Newsletter May 2017 - Power-Heat-Set 15th anniversary

Let’s start back in 1973 when everything began. Mr. Resch senior who then owned a small company, was commissioned through Spindelfabrik Suessen to design a single head machine to be presented at the ITMA Milan in October 1975. The experience during the ITMA pointed towards a greater interest in multiple head machines. This resulted in Mr. Ludwig Resch sen. developing the first six head yarn heatsetting machine (GVA) for Hoerauf Suessen.

Over the years the ITMAs had raised a large interest in fixed synthetic carpet yarns in the USA and the daughter company of Suessen, American Suessen in Charlotte became aware of the large potential in the American market. In 1977 Suessen delivered two machines for testing purposes to the States.
The high performance of the equipment convinced the customer and consequently, Resch Maschinenbau received an order through Hoerauf-Suessen for 25 machines and this was a significant breakthrough into the market.

Between 1978 and 1987 400 GVAs were shipped to the States as well as 30 machines to various customers in Europe and Japan.

In 1983 Mr. Ludwig Resch - the founder and owner of the company - passed away and his son Mr. Ludwig Resch junior took over the business.

In 1987 Resch Maschinenbau started to supply chambers with outer pre zones, the so called GKK2500.

Between 1990 and 1995 Resch developed various machines such as the first frieze machine, the in line steaming unit (Steamatic) and the first GVA 5000.

In 2002 Suessen Hoerauf restructured and withdrew from the heatsetting business. Following this Resch Maschinenbau took over the complete GVA business from Suessen and concentrated all textile activities in the newly founded sister company Power-Heat-Set GmbH.

This is where Power-Heat-Set’s journey began. Since 2002 Power-Heat-Set has been distributing heatsetting equipment which Resch Maschinenbau is still producing. During the years we have sold many machines around the globe in Europe, Asia, North and South America, Australia and Africa.

Since the demand of the products was quite high Power-Heat Set increased their space and built a plant with a test line and laboratory in Töging. From then on it has been possible to invite customers and potential customers to visit us and test their yarns on our machines and to convince them of the quality of our machines. 

During the years we have sold more and more machines to the USA. As the market quickly developed, the decision was made 10 years ago to take the next step and found a new company - Power-Heat-Set of America. Power-Heat-Set of America is based in Dalton, Georgia, the capital city of the carpet industry in the US. We are very happy that the foundation of PHSoA has been and still is a great success.

The Turkish market has also increased considerably over the past years. In 2013 we became partners with an experienced company - Atlas Kontrol - who supports us with service and installation both in Turkey and also in other countries.

During the past 15 years we have developed and extended our range continuously.
