The perfect solution for every customer!

technical Newsletter July 2017 - all about the TRB

This time in our newsletter we would like to give you some information about the TRB. The TRB consists of 6 individually-driven Twin Roll Boxes which have individual adjustment of friezing effect, thus allowing the yarn plant to produce a variety of textures at the highest level of quality, especially in BCF yarn.

The TRB’s are equipped with a pneumatic cylinder for top feed roll pressure, thus only one setting is needed to adjust the pressure of all TRBs on the rollers ensuring equal pressure on all positions.

Through the TRB all types of frieze with every kind of yarn with a maximum speed of 600 m/min and 16 ends per position (depending dtex and winder size) are producible. The strongest frieze effect even on very low twist yarn is possible if wanted. The TRB works with or without steam.

The yarn is carried to the conveyer belt on a chute.

Each frieze effect can be reproduced because of the computer controlled (CoMoSys) and recallable adjustment of all six TRB’s.

If you have a GVA with the TwinRollBoxes it is necessary to take care of the individual parts and this involves replacing worn out parts after a while. Please check as to whether the following parts are worn out and if the maintenance for the parts is secured.

#103029 Wedges made from PTFE / #105336 Wedge with improved wear resistance

Wear depends on yarn; have to grind in to work properly (warm-up time necessary in the beginning). There should be no gap between wedge and roll otherwise yarn hangers can appear.
#105336 Wedge with improved wear resistance  especially for “critical” yarn like high twist, even less gap then #103029.
In the case that yarn hangers appear between feed roll and TRB wedge.

Fins & Support block

  • #102431 FIN (without support block)
  • Yarn guiding part must not rattle and must not be bent.
  • #103034 Support block.
  • #105353 Support Block with fins (glued, set for high twist yarn)

Combination of #102431 + #103034, but glued together in order to avoid any micro gaps which can catch filaments of high twist yarn.

Counter- & Mouthpiece

  • #102505 Mouthpiece 2 bottom
  • Yarn guiding part which must not be scratched.
  • #102828 Counterpiece
  • Yarn guiding part which must not be scratched.

#103055 Cover plate

  • Made of Aluminum
  • Very scratch-sensitive.

#102998 Sight glass

  • It is visible from outside without opening the TRB – therefore any damage at the sight glass can immediately be seen by the operator.
  • Has to be changed in case of cracks because of sharp edges causing damage.

#102430 Transport wheel, diversified

  • Must not be bent or scratched. If bent or scratched it may lead to yarn hangers or a total TRB crash.

Yarn guide

  • #102746 Yarn guide (8,10,14,16 ends)
  • #103946 Yarn guide (12 ends)
  • The yarn guides collect dirt and therefore regular cleaning is necessary.

#103002 PTFE Slide mat for TRB chute

It is visible from outside without opening the TRB – therefore any damage at the slide mat can be seen immediately by the operator.

Steam channel

  • #105352 Steam channel GL (for high filament or high twist yarn).
  • #104442 Steam channel (standard)
  • If too many yarn hangers appear then the steam channel has to be checked for damage. If the channel is in good condition but yarn hangers still appear then the steam channel GL might solve this problem.

#104440 Hopper & #104441

  • Please check the hopper and the gate for scratches.
  • In case of scratches it is possible to polish.

#102400 Feed Roll (14 days check!)

  • Entry damage may appear, so please check the roll for scratches

#103412 Mouthpiece with eyelet (only in combination with a falsetwist) (14 days check!)

  • Yarn guiding part.
  • For yarn with higher dTex alternative diameter mouthpieces are available.
  • We can offer eyelets for low and high dTex on request as processing low dTex yarns in a too big eyelet influences the Frieze-effect negatively

#102504 Mouthpiece 2 top

#102504 Mouthpiece 2 top
Yarn guiding part which must not be scratched.

#102400 Feed Roll (14 days check!)

  • Entry damage may appear, so please check the roll for scratches

Retrofit TRB lever pneumatic

  • We recommend this Retrofit for every customer with the old “TRB lever manual” which has to be adjusted manually.
  • The Retrofit “TRB lever pneumatic” ensures a uniform frieze effect for all six channels of the GVA – the operator can set a defined pressure which applies for all channels.
  • The risk of yarn brakes in the TRB decreases.
    Please ask for quotation.

False Twist yarn guides (daily check!)

  • #103794 yarn guide for 8 ends
  • #110234011011279 yarn guide for 10 ends
  • #103945 yarn guide for 12 ends
  • #110234011011258 yarn guide for 14 ends
  • #110234011011260 yarn guide for 16 ends
  • The yarn guides can break with increasing wear. This results in sharp edges and damages the yarn.

The pictures below show the above mentioned parts which need replacing more frequently and therefore we recommend that you have these parts on stock.
