in March`s technical newsletter we would like to inform you about our new Yarn Jam Sensor which is retrofittable to most GVA machines.
Occasionally during the production a single end or several ends can hang at the Frieze box or on the coiler due to several reasons such as
• wear of TRB components like transport wheels, fins, sight glasses, etc.
• wrong adjustments or incorrect mounting of parts in the TRB after maintenance
• very soft, high twist, low dtex and/or high filament (low dpf) yarn systems

The Yarn Jam Sensor is designed to detect such hangers or yarn jams on the belt. It is mounted on the belt rail of the transport unit between TRB or coiler deposit of the yarn and the chamber entry.
The sensor bridge position and height can be freely adjusted allowing the right position for the current production.
The sensor is equipped with a sensitivity adjustment to fine tune the detection of a yarn hanger or a yarn jam. Different settings are possible to determine, which action will be taken once a yarn hanger or a yarn jam is detected.
