Technical Newsletter September 2017 - How to operate the coiler at the HiPerSet

In our last technical Newsletter we informed you about the TRB wedges. This newsletter is all about how to operate and maintain the coiler.

The coiler is the lay-on unit which enables the production of straight yarn.

In order to avoid an overlapping of yarn whilst it is being run into the thread inlet in the coiler, each individual yarn end must run through the eyelet plate. Make sure that only one yarn end is used per eyelet and, if possible, do not allow them to cross.

The yarn bundle is held in front of the opening of the injector and is sucked into the coiler when the „injector“ key  is pressed (see coiler key pad).

The hand wheel enables the coiler flyer to be moved in the direction of the user so that it is easier to hold the yarn bundle.

If the yarn bundle is in the hand then it should be wrapped manually twice around the coiler using the hand wheel in order to avoid the risk of injury during sudden tightening of the yarn bundle during the start-up.

Pay particular attention to the rotational direction!

The coiler should now be programmed using the operator panel (see „Using the visualization”), and started using the coiler's key pad.

Attention: The coiler can only be started if the transport belt has already been started.

When starting up, the yarn bundle must be held tightly and then after a few turns, the beginning of the yarn bundle has to be put down neatly onto the belt.

Danger: Do not reach into the coiler Flyer!

Certain kinds of yarn may require the depositing of the yarn bundle in a “figure 8“.

To change the bridge to the working position „8“, pull out the locking pin and lower the bridge as far as possible.

Attention: Hold bridge firmly, whilst lowering!

Now, the position of the mounting rail can be adjusted.
To do that, loosen the nut, bring the mounting rails into the desired position and retighten the nut.

To position the blowing nozzle and the retaining strip, the cover must be removed.
Once the fastening nuts have been loosened then the blowing nozzle / the retaining strip can be moved in the slot. The positions of the blowing nozzle and the retaining strip can be exchanged with each other if necessary.

The compressed air can be adjusted with the flow Regulator.

We hope that this guideline will help you to operate your machine correctely.
